The RCIL Raingarden Data Explorer (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides this Privacy Policy to describe how we collect, use, and protect personal information you provide when using this service. By using the RCIL Raingarden Data Explorer, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information:

  • Email address — collected when you request a CSV data export. We use this solely to deliver the requested file and to record the request for audit purposes.

We do not collect names, payment information, or any other personally identifying information beyond what is listed above. We do not use tracking cookies or behavioural advertising technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your email address is used for the following purposes:

  • To deliver the CSV data export you requested.
  • To maintain an internal audit log of data access requests for research governance and compliance purposes.

We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Request records (including email addresses) are stored in a secured database hosted on Supabase infrastructure within the European Union. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Email delivery is handled by Resend. By submitting your email address, you acknowledge that it will be processed by Resend in accordance with their own privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

Download request records are retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of the request, after which they are permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us at the address below.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address provided in Section 8.

7. Third-Party Services

This application uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database and data storage
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — application hosting and deployment

Each third party operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies.
