1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the RCIL Raingarden Data Explorer (“the Service”, “we”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue your use of the Service immediately.

2. Description of Service

The RCIL Raingarden Data Explorer provides interactive visualisation of environmental sensor data including water levels, temperature, and precipitation readings collected at various monitoring stations. The Service is intended for research, educational, and informational purposes only.

3. Data Accuracy and Limitations

The data provided through this Service is sourced from environmental monitoring equipment and is provided “as is”. While we endeavour to maintain accuracy, we make no warranties — express or implied — regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the data. Readings may be subject to instrument error, calibration drift, or data transmission delays.

This data must not be used as the sole basis for decisions relating to public safety, emergency response, flood management, or any other critical application. Always consult qualified professionals and official sources for such purposes.

4. Permitted Use

You may use the Service and any exported data for:

  • Personal research and academic study
  • Non-commercial educational purposes
  • Data journalism and public interest reporting

If you intend to use the data for commercial purposes, please contact us to discuss a licensing arrangement.

5. Prohibited Use

You must not:

  • Systematically scrape or bulk-download data in a manner that impairs the Service
  • Misrepresent the provenance or accuracy of any exported data
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure

6. Intellectual Property

The software, design, and presentation of this Service are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Underlying sensor data may be subject to separate licensing terms; please refer to the data source documentation for details.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or any data obtained through it.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
